Senior Social Worker - Doomadgee State School
Doomadgee State School is seeking a compassionate and dedicated Senior Social Worker to join our team.
The role supports students with mild to moderate mental health concerns and works within the student support team to enhance wellbeing and mental health services.
It is part of a statewide initiative ensuring every Queensland primary and secondary state school student has access to a wellbeing professional at school.
Responsibilities
Assess client needs, develop care plans, connect clients with resources and services, advocate for their rights and offer emotional support.
Operate in an advisory and advocacy capacity providing professional services specific to the social work discipline.
Respond to the needs of the student population and school community by providing personal and family counselling, therapy and group work, facilitation for referrals to allied health professionals, and service and care coordination to assist student wellbeing and mental health.
Support school communities in responding to critical incidents and emergencies as a part of the school response team.
Participate as a member of a multi-disciplinary team within an educational setting, providing support to school, community and inter-agency/networks relevant to the position.
