EL1 Project Stakeholder Engagement and Communications Manager
A federal government agency is seeking an experienced EL1 Project Stakeholder Engagement and Communications Manager to support major remediation projects underway across the organisation. This role is embedded within a senior Engagement and Communications team and requires a confident, highly capable communicator who can commence quickly and add value in a complex, fast‐paced and sensitive environment.
The engagement is offered as a 12‐month labour hire contract, commencing ASAP, with extension potential. The role is Canberra‐based, with negotiable flexible working arrangements, including up to two days per week working from home.
About the Role
Reporting to the Director, Engagement and Communications, you will play a lead role in delivering stakeholder engagement and communications activities for major remediation and change projects.
You will work closely with project management teams and senior stakeholders across the agency, developing and implementing complex stakeholder engagement and communications strategies to maximise project effectiveness and support successful outcomes.
This role requires strong judgement, excellent written and interpersonal skills, and the ability to operate confidently in a sensitive APS environment.
Key Responsibilities
* Lead the development and implementation of stakeholder engagement and communications strategies to support major projects
* Apply and maintain stakeholder engagement frameworks aligned to project delivery
* Develop and deliver project‐specific internal and external communications plans
* Provide high‐quality advice to the Director, Executive and senior colleagues
* Actively consult with internal and external stakeholders to support informed decision‐making and collaboration
* Work closely with project managers, scientific and regulatory subject matter experts to support communications planning
* Support issues management in a complex and evolving operating environment
About You
You are a highly experienced stakeholder engagement and communications professional with a proven track record operating in complex and sensitive environments.
You will bring:
* Tertiary qualifications in Media, Communications or a related discipline
* Extensive experience delivering stakeholder engagement and communications through change
* Demonstrated ability to develop and successfully implement engagement plans
* Strong problem‐solving capability and experience providing advice on complex issues
* Excellent interpersonal and networking skills and a collaborative working style
* The ability to rapidly acquire an understanding of new regulatory, technical or sector‐specific environments
Experience in government, regulatory environments, or the agricultural sector will be well regarded, as will change or project management certification, but these are not essential.

* Be able to obtain and maintain a Baseline security clearance

Casual Loading
