We are seeking a talented and motivated Associate specialising in Litigation to join our dynamic team.
The Role: Associate (Litigation and Insolvency)
We currently have a position for a 2–4 year PAE litigation Associate to join our expanding litigation team in Brisbane, with a focus on commercial litigation, employment law and insolvency.
The successful candidate will need to hit the ground running and will be given matters focusing on commercial litigation, debt recovery, secured and unsecured enforcement, and insolvency. The individual will have regular direct contact with a variety of clients, referrers and senior practitioners in the firm.
Responsibilities
* Run commercial litigation and dispute resolution files.
* Advocate in court appearances and mediations.
* Manage litigation and insolvency matters with relative autonomy through to trial (if necessary).
* Draft correspondence, advice, pleadings, applications and affidavits.
* Prepare briefs for experts, town agents and counsel.
* Apply State and Federal Court rules and procedures.
* Ensure technical accuracy and attention to detail.
Qualifications
* Excellent advocacy skills for court appearances and mediations.
* Solid working knowledge of State and Federal Court rules.
* Strong drafting and legal writing abilities.
* Demonstrated experience in running commercial litigation and dispute resolution files.
* Willingness to learn and maintain autonomy in litigation and insolvency matters.
* High professional and ethical standards.
* Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written.
* Enthusiastic, positive team player and collaborator.
* Self‑starter, highly organized, deadline‑orientated and accountable.
* Alignment with the firm’s values and culture.
* Ability to support the firm’s progression, reputation and build positive client relationships.
