Project Manager – Civil Works | 8:6 FIFO/DIDO | BHP Jimblebar Site We're on the lookout for a Project Manager to lead a civil construction contract at BHP Jimblebar, overseeing the delivery of a 3km flood bund project. This is a FIFO/DIDO position on an 8:6 roster with a contract running through to the end of 2025.
About the Role
We are seeking an experienced and motivated Project Manager to take ownership of a key civil project near the South Jimblebar Pit. Working on an 8:6 FIFO roster and based at BHP's Warrawandu Camp, you will be responsible for ensuring the project is delivered safely, efficiently, and in full compliance with client and contractual obligations.
The successful candidate will be proactive, highly organised, and capable of leading teams in a fast-paced operational environment. You'll work closely with both internal departments and external stakeholders to manage priorities, mitigate risks, and keep the project on track to its end-of-2025 completion date.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead and manage civil works delivery across a 3km flood bund construction project
- Coordinate project activities including excavation, load & haul, bund placement, poly welding, and material screening
- Ensure the project is delivered within budget, timeframe, and to scope
- Monitor progress, report on risks and issues, and drive timely resolutions
- Maintain clear communication with clients, subcontractors, and internal teams
- Ensure full compliance with safety, environmental, and operational procedures
- Provide strong leadership to the site team and support a high-performing culture
- Identify and implement process improvements where applicable
What You Will Bring
- 3–5+ years of experience in Project Management (civil construction or mining infrastructure preferred)
- Demonstrated ability to manage contract-based civil projects in remote or FIFO environments
- Proven stakeholder management skills and explicit communication style
- Strong commercial acumen — including costing, reporting, and forecasting
- Ability to manage competing deadlines in high-pressure environments
- Section 26 (Statutory Supervisor Training) – must have
- Solid understanding of HSE requirements in mining or civil construction environments

- Scope: Excavation clean-up, bund placement and trimming, poly welding, clay lining, and material screening
- Location: 30 minutes from Newman airport, based at BHP Warrawandu Camp
- Roster: 8:6 FIFO from Perth or DIDO if residential
- Start Date: Late October 2025
- Contract: Through to end of 2025
