The Director Facilities, Bendigo Hospital, is pivotal to the success of the Health and Education (H&E) Line of Business within Downer’s Social Infrastructure and Citizen Services (SI&CS) Business Unit.


About the Role

The Facilities Director leads the effective and safe delivery of a range of services and ensures compliance with contractual obligations. The Facilities Director is accountable for the delivery of asset management, maintenance and facilities management services at the Bendigo Hospital. This role reports to the General Manager H&E.

This role requires a strong stakeholder focus. Due to the scale and complexity of the Bendigo Hospital PPP contract, the Facilities Director will need to ensure that a high quality of service is provided to the facilities within contractual key performance indicator targets, whilst ensuring that team members are engaged and that all roles and responsibilities are aligned with contract and company requirements. Given the long-term nature of the PPP contract, the role also requires a leader with a focus on continuous improvement and innovation to drive sustainable, best in class operations.

* Achieving agreed contract KPIs.
* Role modelling safety leadership behaviours.
* Building a high performing culture with an engaged workforce who are motivated and inspired to perform at a consistently high level.


Ideal Candidate

* Proven experience in a leadership role preferably in a Health facility.
* Strong commercial and financial acumen.
* Experience in hard Facilities Management.
* Experience in developing solid senior stakeholder relationships.
* Proven experience in fostering growth within an organisation.
* Demonstrated leadership experience within a collaborative matrix based working environment, delivering the required outcomes against a performance-based contract with agreed key performance indicators.
* Ability to develop strong partnerships with external stakeholders.
* Tertiary qualifications in a relevant discipline. Ideally, a degree in Business, Commerce or similar.
