About The Role
Legal Counselis a mid to senior level role (approximately 8 to 15 PQE) which provides a broad range of legal advice and services and provides specialist expertise across HammondCare's businesses.
The Legal Counsel supports the General Counsel and Senior Legal Counsel and works with stakeholders at all levels.
The breadth of this role requires a strong level of business acumen and relationship building skills.

Key Responsibilities Include
Provides timely and accurate legal advice to HammondCare on a variety of matters including statutory reporting, corporate, commercial, contracts, property, estates, IT, IP, privacy and others across aged care, health and hospitals business.
Monitors privacy-related correspondence and provides privacy-related advice.
Provides expert guidance on policy, risk-management, governance and legislative changes.
Assists with legal aspects of projects from NDA to implementation and completion.
Ensures that HammondCare complies with its legal obligations in pursuing its strategy.
Protects HammondCare's interests in contract negotiations.
Maintains records on corporate governance, statutory reporting and contracts.
Prepares and maintains precedents.
About You
Tertiary qualifications in Law and must hold a current practising certificate
Minimum 8 years, and up to about 15 years, post qualification legal experience.
Significant experience with IT contracts and cyber security related issues will be highly regarded.
Commitment to engage and align with HammondCare's mission, motivation and action
Strong verbal communication, influencing and conflict resolution skills.
Practical and perceptive, with good problem-solving skills.
Excellent writing skills and attention to detail.
Displays initiative and possesses an attitude of service.
Exercises good judgement to make sound, timely and well-informed decisions.
Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
Strong administrative and computer skills including Word, PowerPoint and Excel.
Interpersonal skills - builds rapport and trust quickly, alters approach to suit the situation and diffuses difficult situations in a manner that puts others at ease.
