About the Role
We are seeking a skilled butcher to join our team in a slaughterhouse environment. As a butcher, you will be responsible for slaughtering livestock and removing viscera and other inedible parts from carcasses.
Key Responsibilities:
* Slaughter livestock and remove viscera and other inedible parts from carcasses
* Cut carcasses into primal cuts for further processing or packaging
* Remove feathers, singe, and wash poultry for further processing
* Remove bones from meat
Requirements
To be successful in this role, you must possess the following skills and qualifications:
* Secondary (high) school graduation certificate
* 1 to less than 7 months of experience
* Criminal record check
* Ability to handle physical demands and repetitive tasks
* Manual dexterity and attention to detail
* Experience with cleavers, knives, and power cutting tools
Work Environment
This is a fast-paced environment that requires the ability to work in a noisy and odorous setting. You must be physically able to handle loads up to 13.5 kg (30 lbs) and be willing to relocate to the designated location.
