As an APS4 Site Coordinator, you’ll play a key role in supporting our Townsville office and contributing to a positive, well‑functioning workplace. Reporting to the APS6 Site Coordinator and working within the Corporate and Strategic Services team, you’ll oversee day‑to‑day site services including corporate, property and accommodation matters.
This role requires a client-focused, proactive and adaptable individual who can collaborate effectively with internal and external stakeholders, and work within changing priorities and timeframes.
This role is integral to managing and supporting DEWR’s Central and North Queensland-based staff, ensuring effective coordination of administrative functions and implementation of corporate messages. You’ll work closely with the Brisbane Site Coordinators to ensure Central and North Queensland‑based staff are well supported, connected and able to do their best work. The key duties of the position include:
Responsibilities of the APS Level 4 Site Coordinator include:
* Provide front-line site support as the local point of contact, responding to routine enquiries and liaising with corporate areas to resolve issues or escalate as required.
* Coordinate day-to-day facilities and accommodation activities, including logging and tracking maintenance requests, liaising with building management/service providers, and escalating emerging issues to minimise disruption.
* Undertake access and security administration for staff and contractors, including workstation allocation, equipment and access pass distribution/retrieval, and contractor induction/access coordination, consistent with relevant procedures (some manual handling required).
* Support local Workplace Health and Safety (WHS) activities and contribute to WHS documentation and communications under direction.
* Assist with local emergency management and business continuity activities (e.g. fire warden coordination, evacuation processes, local disruption response) and act as a site contact during incidents/building alerts, escalating matters in accordance with guidance.
* Provide administrative and coordination support, including maintaining site mailboxes/records, meeting room bookings, ordering and stock control (stationery/supplies), supporting invoice processing and fleet administration, and assisting with asset/equipment registers.
* Provide practical, timely advice to staff on workplace processes; assist with coordinating meetings/events and staff engagement activities; and suggest improvements to enhance service delivery, efficiency and safety.
* Assist in the organisation of meetings, events, and training opportunities, including managing travel, accommodation and catering. Organise and support local activities that foster a positive workplace culture.

Please note, under section 22(8) of the Public Service Act 1999, employees must be Australian citizens to be employed in the APS unless the Agency delegate has agreed, in writing.
This is a designated security assessed position. The successful candidate will have the ability to obtain and maintain a Baseline security clearance.
This selection process may be used to establish a merit pool. The pool might be accessed to fill ongoing and non-ongoing vacancies for similar roles in the Department over the next 18 months.
