About the Role
The HR Officer is responsible for delivering human resources support across the dealership. This role plays a key part in ensuring compliance with employment legislation, supporting workforce planning, driving employee engagement, and enabling managers to build high-performing teams in a fast-paced retail automotive environment.
Key Responsibilities
* Manage end-to-end recruitment, onboarding, and offboarding for the dealership. (Sales, Aftersales, Administration, Management).
* Maintain accurate and up-to-date employee records in HR systems and personnel files.
* Support accurate processing of salaries, commissions, allowances, leave, and superannuation.
* Support implementation and communication of HR policies, procedures, and policy updates, ensure compliance with employment legislation.
* Support the implementation and ongoing management of WHS systems, policies, and procedures across the dealership.
* Provide general HR administrative support to management as required.
Key Skills & Competencies
* Tertiary qualification in Human Resources or a related discipline.
* 2–4+ years' experience in a generalist HR role, ideally within retail, automotive, hospitality, or fast-paced environments in Australia, preferrable in the automative dealership.
* HRIS and payroll system (preferrable in Xero) experience.
* Solid working knowledge of Australia employment legislation and HR best practices.
* Strong interpersonal and communication skills with the ability to engage at all levels.
* High attention to detail and strong organisational skills.
* Bilingual English - Chinese capability, especially for roles involving China HQ coordination.
* Ability to handle sensitive matters with professionalism and confidentiality.
