The Head of Department will lead strategic initiatives to enhance student engagement, wellbeing, inclusion and achievement, particularly within a First Nations context.
Key Responsibilities Include
* Collaboratively developing and implementing policies, procedures, and programs, such as PBL and support well-being and engagement for students and staff.
* Monitoring and tracking attendance, behaviour, and achievement data for student cohorts to inform targeted interventions.
* Overseeing and facilitating the school's Student Support Team (SST) to ensure staff are supported in meeting diverse needs of students
* Managing the school's Out of Home Care (OOHC) cohort, ensuring the school's ESP funding reflects student needs and relevant internal and external supports are available to enhance learner wellbeing, engagement and academic outcomes
* Leading and managing staff cohorts to ensure alignment between pedagogy and curriculum plans, while supporting consistent implementation of the school's pedagogical approach, including PBL and indigenous perspectives
The role also involves fostering a culture of continuous improvement and professional growth through:
* Support the school's collaborative capability development framework and setting personal goals (SPG).
* Leading student data analysis to achieve key performance targets, including attendance, academic outcomes, and behaviour.
* Managing student engagement initiatives, while ensuring consistent application of the Student Code of Conduct.
* Lead and facilitate school primary to secondary transition processes within the Year 6 cohort
