All NSW Health workers are required to have completed a primary course (2 doses) of a Therapeutic Goods Administration (TGA) approved or recognised COVID-19 vaccine (except for the Janssen COVID-19 vaccine which is approved by the TGA as a single dose primary course). New applicants must have completed the vaccination course prior to commencement with NSW Health or provide an Australian Immunisation Register (AIR) Immunisation History Statement certifying the worker cannot have any approved COVID-19 vaccines available in NSW. A NSW Health agency may require further information about the medical contraindication (including but not limited to an Immunisation Medical Exemption form – IM011 form).
Acceptable proof of vaccination is the Australian Immunisation Register (AIR) Immunisation History Statement or AIR COVID-19 Digital Certificate. Booster doses are highly recommended for all health care workers who have completed the primary course of COVID-19 vaccinations.
Employment of a temporary visa holder may only occur if no suitable permanent resident or citizen of Australia has been identified and must not exceed the duration or conditions associated with the current visa.
Selection criteria to be addressed :
1. Current registration as Registered Nurse Division 1 with AHPRA.
2. Demonstrated recent experience and clinical skill in general nursing as a registered nurse (including completion of a new graduate RN program or 12 months full time equivalent experience working as a Registered Nurse).
3. Demonstrated ability to organise and prioritise work and an ability to effectively work both within a team and autonomously.
4. Demonstrated evidence of being able to provide person centred care and an ability to liaise with other health professionals to facilitate case management and care planning.
5. Demonstrated effective communication skills (written and verbal) and interpersonal skills.
6. Demonstrated commitment to professional development, evidence based practice and an awareness of changes within the health care environment.
7. Demonstrated knowledge of and ability to utilise information technology systems within a variety of applications ( Cerner) and commitment to undertake training in electronic health record systems as required.
8. Current NSW State driver's licence (including P1 or above) and willingness to use for work purposes. This may include driving long distances across the LHD.
