Faith Lutheran College is situated in the beautiful Barossa Valley and has an enrolment of over 800 students from ELC to Year 12 across two campuses. We are currently seeking a passionate and innovative Sustainability and Kitchen Garden Teacher to join our Junior School team on a permanent part-time basis commencing January 2026.
About the Role
This role leads the College’s outdoor learning and sustainability initiatives, centred on the Stephanie Alexander Garden Programme. It delivers hands-on lessons for all year levels that integrate with the curriculum, promote environmental responsibility, and foster sustainable practices. Activities include gardening, animal care, composting, recycling and produce-based projects, developed in collaboration with Junior School staff.
What we are looking for:
- Registration with the Teachers Registration Board of South Australia
- Tertiary qualifications in Education
- Knowledge and practical skills in sustainability, gardening, and/or environmental education
- Experience delivering engaging hands-on learning across multiple year levels
- Current WWCC, RRHAN-EC, First Aid, and Valuing Safe Communities training (or willingness to obtain)
- A demonstrated commitment to the Vision, Mission, and Values of the College
Experience with the Stephanie Alexander Garden Programme, school recycling initiatives, or animal care (e.g., chickens, worm farms) will be highly regarded
