We are now seeking a passionate and driven people & culture manager to join our leadership team and help shape the future of our organisation.
This pivotal leadership role reports directly to the chief operating officer and plays an essential part in shaping our workplace culture and strategic direction.
The position is responsible for driving the development and implementation of workplace health and safety systems, training and development programs, and human resource strategies that align with selectability's strategic objectives and support sustainable growth.
Based in Townsville, this full-time permanent position offers the opportunity to make a meaningful impact across the organisation by fostering a safe, skilled and engaged workforce.
Key responsibilities include but are not limited to:
leading the development, implementation and oversight of the organisation's Workplace Health and Safety (WHS) management system
managing incident reporting and investigation processes; applying risk management principles to reduce workplace incidents, accidents and workers' compensation claims
identifying and managing organisational risk assessments related to WHS and human resources, ensuring proactive mitigation strategies are in place
driving the design and delivery of learning and development initiatives across the organisation and implementing training programmes that enhance employee capability and performance and promote a culture of continuous improvement aligned with selectability's strategic goals
leading the development and optimisation of human resource systems and processes across the employee lifecycle, including workforce planning, talent acquisition, succession planning, performance management and cultural development
ensuring compliance with relevant legislation and industrial relations frameworks, including WHS, Fair Work and quality standards such as NDIS Human Services Quality Framework, Mental Health Standards and Aged Care
developing and embedding frameworks, policies and procedures that foster a safe, inclusive and engaging workplace culture supporting the delivery of high-quality care
identifying organisational training needs and leading a team to design and implement workforce development programmes that support safe and effective service delivery
analysing workforce and safety data to identify trends, inform decision-making and recommend areas for quality improvement
providing strategic reporting and insights to the executive leadership team and board of directors
About you
To be considered for this rewarding role you will have:
extensive knowledge of Workplace Health and Safety legislation and best practice frameworks
ability to develop and implement strategic initiatives that drive organisational performance and cultural alignment
comprehensive understanding of the Australian Fair Work Act and industrial relations legislation, with hands-on experience in implementing effective compliance measures
strong and supportive leadership capabilities, with the ability to build trust, foster collaboration and maintain confidentiality at all levels
exceptional communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to engage and build relationships across diverse stakeholder groups
a demonstrated ability to prioritise conflicting priorities as required
Role requirements
tertiary qualifications in human resources, business, workplace health and safety or related fields
Certificate IV in Workplace Health and Safety
occasional out of hours work may be required from time to time
travel to selectability sites may be required from time to time
a Child Safety & Personal History Screening check
a Positive Notice Working with Children (blue card) (or the ability to obtain)
NDIS Worker Screening Clearance (or the ability to obtain)
NDIS Worker Orientation Module Quality Safety & You completion certificate (or the ability to obtain)
a current minimum P1 C class Queensland driver's licence
