Compass Recruitment are currently working with a leading national engineering company in their search for a Senior Structural Engineer for their growing Perth team. This role will be working with the clients residential housing team and will be focused on structural designs and documentation for building structures with medium to large complexity, such as architecturally designed houses, estate development of units/townhouses, and associated facilities such as community centres, gymnasiums etc, with potential opportunities to be involved in multi-level building structures and light commercial buildings The day to day of the role will include: • Undertake detailed analysis of various structural designs including building structures of custom homes, medium density and associated facilities. • Work collaboratively within project teams, including Architects, Services Engineers, Contractors and other key stakeholders. • Provide construction phase services. • Perform investigative inspections and report writing. • Utilise various software packages for structural analysis. • Review and interpret project inputs, such as architectural and services documentation, surveys, and other client inputs. • Meet project timeframes and budgets. • Be motivated in self-learning activities. • Take on some project and financial management responsibilities for key projects. To be suitable for the role you will need; • Bachelor (or Master) of Engineering degree in Civil/Structural with advanced knowledge in structural engineering or 3-10 years of experience • Strong team player with client and project lead abilities • Ability to meet deadlines and work within budgets • Sound knowledge of relevant legal requirements, current codes of practice and industry best practices • Excellent written and verbal communication skills • Demonstrated progress towards Chartered Status is advantageous • Experience in project delivery within Australia is advantageous.
