About Wespine
Our client, Wespine Industries is a significant manufacturer of structural timber, servicing the building industry nationwide. Wespine operates a state‐of‐the‐art softwood sawmill in Dardanup (on the outskirts of Bunbury in Western Australia's south‐west), employing 240+ people across its operations, maintenance, planning, administration and sales divisions. The company is jointly owned by Wesfarmers and Laminex (Fletcher Building Limited) and has annual revenues of approximately $140 million.
This Opportunity
To lead an integrated People, Culture and Workplace Health & Safety portfolio across this successful company.
Reporting to the Managing Director and as a member of the Wespine Executive Leadership Team, you will be tasked with lifting organisational capability, strengthening governance and delivering measurable improvements in Wespine's culture, engagement and safety performance. This will encompass building and embedding a People & Safety strategy aligned to Wespine's operational and strategic objectives, whilst strengthening leadership capability, performance and accountability.
You will lead the whole employee lifecycle, including workforce planning, engagement and retention, whilst also providing leadership across Wespine's WHS and industrial relations functions.
Responsibilities
* Lead the integrated People, Culture and Workplace Health & Safety portfolio.
* Embed a People & Safety strategy that aligns with operational and strategic objectives.
* Strengthen governance, leadership capability, performance and accountability across the organization.
* Lead the full employee lifecycle, including workforce planning, engagement, and retention.
* Provide leadership across WHS and industrial relations functions.
* Deliver measurable improvements in safety performance and workplace culture.
Qualifications
* Strategic, values‐led People & Culture leader with credibility to influence at executive level.
* Strong commercial acumen, sound judgement and commitment to continuous improvement.
* Significant senior hands‐on leadership experience across broad People & Culture functions, including WHS and IR.
* Appropriate tertiary qualifications and proven success in delivering enterprise people and safety strategies.
* Track record of measurable improvement in safety performance and culture.
