About the Role
Programmed Skilled Workforce are seeking experienced and safety-focused Shut Down Fitters for an upcoming shutdown in Railton, Tasmania. The shutdown will start at the end of May and run for around 6 weeks. This is a casual, project-based opportunity suited to skilled tradespeople who can work efficiently in a fast-paced environment while maintaining high safety and quality standards.
You will play a key role in executing critical maintenance tasks to ensure plant equipment is serviced, repaired, and operational within strict shutdown timeframes.
Key Responsibilities
* Perform mechanical maintenance, repairs, and component change-outs
* Strip, inspect, and rebuild plant and production equipment
* Fault find and troubleshoot mechanical issues
* Work from technical drawings and maintenance plans
* Adhere strictly to site safety procedures and shutdown schedules
* Collaborate effectively within a maintenance team to meet deadlines
Requirements
* Must be available from End of May for around 6 weeks work
* Proven shutdown experience within manufacturing or heavy industry
* Valid Confined Space Ticket (essential)
* Strong commitment to workplace health and safety
* Ability to work extended hours during shutdown periods
* Reliable transport to site
* No accommodation provided
* Casual engagement for the duration of the shutdown
* Competitive hourly rates (based on experience)
