Job Description
We currently have an exciting opportunity for an Assistant Manager to join our Allied Bearings branch in Cairns. This is a hands‑on position supporting the Branch Manager and playing a key role in daily branch operations, customer service, sales and inventory management.
You’ll be actively involved in the sale of Bearing Wholesalers products across face‑to‑face, phone and online channels, while also taking ownership of stock control and operational tasks. This role suits someone who enjoys variety, responsibility, and being part of a close‑knit, experienced team.
This is a permanent, full‑time position, with an immediate start available for the right candidate.
Qualifications
What you’ll do
* Counter, phone, and online sales
* Quoting and servicing customers to their individual requirements
* Stock control including stocktaking, merchandising, and housekeeping
* Inward and outward goods, picking, packing, and dispatch
* Promoting sales catalogues and monthly flyers
* Ownership of day‑to‑day duties including stock purchases, allocation, and sales
* Supporting the Branch Manager and contributing to a collaborative team environment
About you
* Intermediate Microsoft Office skills
* Strong understanding of motor vehicle components
* Working knowledge of ball and roller bearings
* Knowledge of power transmission products
* Confident using vernier callipers
* General understanding of metric and imperial measurements
* A practical, customer‑focused approach with a willingness to get hands‑on
