**Job Description**:
Our Energy business are currently looking for a Design Manager to work within our Transmission and Distribution team who has exceptional knowledge of primary systems and Australian clients, project frameworks and standards.
This is a diverse role which will enable a proven Design Manager to engage in highly technical projects, while leading and mentoring a team of professional engineers in a multidisciplinary, global engineering consultancy.
**Qualifications**:
As a Design Manager in our Transmission and Distribution team you will be responsible for workload coordination and resource scheduling for the delivery of high-profile, complex projects.
In this diverse and exciting role, you will assist leading and mentoring a team while contributing towards business development activities in respect of building client relationships, scanning for opportunities, keeping abreast of local markets and disciplines, development of capture plans and preparation of high-quality bids.
This is an opportunity to partner with our clients and lead our engineers in major design delivery while operating in a diverse role, which will generally require the Design Manager to have the following:
+ Relevant qualifications in Design Management or Engineering, such as a Bachelor of Engineering;
+ A passion for industry, driven towards mentoring and leading engineers in diverse project sectors and enjoys sharing ideas to work collaboratively with clients and team members;
+ Excellent knowledge of transmission, distribution and generation within primary systems and plant;
+ Demonstrable experience operating as Design/ Project Manager for major projects, to deliver on client and project financial, time and quality expectations.
+ Proven commitment to collaborative, ethical behaviour in a client-facing environment;
+ Strong capability in managing design projects autonomously while working closely with clients as a key advisor in design management, planning and procurement, scheduling, financial management and risk management;
+ Excellent oral and written communication skills including the ability to develop comprehensive reports and submissions.
Preferred Qualifications
+ Exposure to multidisciplinary engineering consultancies strongly preferred, but not essential.
+ Proven background in leading and managing specialist Engineering teams, advantageous.
