About the Role
This full‐time position blends maintenance, machinery operation, yard coordination, and operations support. You'll play a key role in keeping the depot running smoothly and supporting the operations team to deliver safe, efficient, high‐quality work.
Your day may include:
* Basic maintenance on trucks, trailers, and machinery
* Tyre changes and minor repairs
* Operating machinery (skid steer, telehandler, etc.) for commercial poultry cleanouts on a rotational basis
* General yard work, housekeeping, and equipment organisation
* Assisting with workshop tasks and maintenance scheduling
* Coordinating yard workflow, equipment readiness, and job preparation
* Supporting the operations team with job planning, loading, and dispatch
* Supervising yard standards, safety, and equipment checks
* Providing updates to operations on equipment status, repairs, and job readiness
* Assisting with stock control (PPE, consumables, parts, tools etc)
No two days are the same — you'll be involved across the whole yard, machinery, and operations space.
What You'll Need
* Mechanically minded with experience in machinery or vehicle maintenance
* Ability to work under pressure and solve problems on the fly
* Demonstrated ability to operate machinery safely and efficiently (skid steer/telehandler essential)
* Strong work ethic and a practical, hands‐on attitude
* Reliability, punctuality, and the ability to work independently
* Good communication skills and the ability to support operators and drivers
* Confidence coordinating tasks, prioritising work, and keeping jobs moving
* Understanding of safe work practices and yard safety
* Driver's license
* Machinery tickets (skid steer, telehandler) preferred, or willingness to obtain
* HC license desired but not essential
