Role Overview
As an EMR Medical Analyst at Northern Health, you will play a crucial role in optimizing the quality and safety of patient care through the analysis, design, build, configuration, testing, and conversion of our integrated Electronic Medical Record (EMR) System.
About the Role
Northern Health has implemented an integrated EMR System with the vision of 'One patient' and 'One integrated record'. The EMR Medical Analyst will review existing workflows, content, and configuration to optimize current workflows and design new workflows from a medical perspective.
Key Responsibilities
* Analysis, design, build, configuration, testing, and conversion of the EMR system
* Review existing workflows, content, and configuration to optimize current workflows
* Design new workflows from a medical perspective
Requirements
* Medical registration with the Medical Board of Australia under the Australian Health Practitioner Regulation Agency (AHPRA)
* Undergraduate medical qualification as a first degree – MBBS, MD or equivalent
* A medical background with an interest in computerized workflows, best practice, innovation, clinical documentation, and healthcare informatics
* Demonstrated experience working in a metropolitan hospital environment and understanding of clinical workflows in the acute and subacute inpatient settings
* Critical thinking, strong analytical, and troubleshooting skills
* Experience using common business analysis software such as Microsoft Visio and Excel
* Excellent written and verbal communication skills
* Demonstrated ability to manage and triage defects during the testing processes
* Knowledge of and experience with the Oracle Health (Cerner) EMR or equivalent EMR/Clinical Information System
