Programmed, in partnership with Svitzer Australia, is seeking expressions of interest from individuals based in Bunbury WA who are ready to take the next step in their career through a full-time paid Marine Engineer Traineeship. This program provides a structured pathway to achieving your AMSA Engineer Class 3 NC Certificate of Competency, offering a unique opportunity to earn while you learn, gain valuable sea experience, and develop your skills in a dynamic, safety-focused environment.

About You
Trade-qualified? Ready to take your skills into the marine industry?
Hold an AMSA workshop-equivalent trade qualification or an AMSA Marine Engine Driver Grade 1 NC (MED 1) ticket (and have hands-on experience working onboard in an MED 1 capacity)
Strong focus on safety, compliance and responsible operations
Genuine interest in developing as a marine engineer
Team-first mindset with clear and respectful communication
Ability to stay calm, focused and effective under pressure
Motivation to learn, improve and solve problems
Commitment to quality work and continuous improvement
Strong connection to your local community – applicants must already live in the port where the traineeship is offered
Ability to attend AMC full-time for 13 weeks as part of your training
Program Details
This 12-month full-time traineeship is designed to provide the training, experience and support needed to achieve your AMSA Engineer Class 3 NC Certificate of Competency. Applicants must be ready to commence in February **** and be willing to travel to Launceston, TAS, to complete the AMC course requirements and AMSA oral examinations over approximately 13 weeks, commencing from 20 April ****.
