**Who we are**
The Finance Division supports the department to be efficient, effective and financially sustainable through our business partnerships, the Finance Service Charter and our specialist centres of excellence. The division provides financial and management advice and support to the department, the offices of the minister and assistant ministers and to industry stakeholders. The division delivers on business objectives through the provision of high quality customer service, advice and support and a nationally consistent approach to business, with consideration to the government's tight fiscal environment, its significant reform agenda and the department's imperative to maintain financial sustainability.

Financial Services Branch provides administers policies, provides quality advice and a high standard of service in a range of functions including cost recovery, travel, credit cards, procurement, grants, accounts payable, accounts receivable, appropriation management, insurance, financial policy, and reporting. The branch also manages several projects for the department.

The Central Procurement and Contract Management Section administers the procurement policies, guidance and templates; and provides advice and support on procurement activities. The Section is responsible for quality assurance reviews of procurement documentation and governance. The Section also supports the agency with procurement related processing and reporting functions. The section takes pride in creating and influencing continued improvement activities. The section is also committed to promoting environmental sustainability in procurement. We work closely with our colleagues in other enabling services including legal, risk, finance, property, information technology and human resource functions.

**The Job**
- Provide quality, considered advice on the department's procurement processes and the Australian Government procurement framework.
- Promptly respond to business area requests for support, guidance materials, templates and documents using appropriate channels.
- Contract data entry and administration of the procurement processing function.
- Monitoring contract data and engaging with business areas to support contract management.
- Promote a high standard of procurement practice, sustainable procurement, and engagement with First Nations businesses.
- Assist with internal projects and contribute to development of procurement practices in the agency. Reporting tasks, including to AusTender and for internal or external stakeholders.

A merit pool will also be established through this selection process, which is valid for a period of eighteen months from the date the vacancy was advertised in the Public Service Gazette.

**What we are looking for**

**Knowledge and experience**
- Demonstrated experience or ability to perform in a team providing customer service, corporate or systems support to clients.
- Demonstrated experience or ability to effectively communicate in a professional customer service context to a range of stakeholders a range of complex matters, including legislation, policies, and compliance matters.
- Demonstrated experience or ability to collaborate to achieve priorities, including developing effective partnerships with internal and external stakeholders.
- Experience with technologyone or similar financial management information system, or a demonstrated ability to quickly become familiar with its use.
- Experience interpreting legislation, policies, and processes that form the Commonwealth Procurement Framework.

**Skills and capabilities**
- relevant skills or experience in a previous procurement role, or similar skills which will be applicable to the role
- ability to proactively engage with stakeholders and build strong working relationships
- strong written and verbal communication skills, with the capacity to convey complex information in a clear and concise manner
