Role Overview:
We're seeking an Internal Account Manager to join the team, managing a diverse customer portfolio from the Melbourne office. This role focuses on small-to-medium business clients, balancing account management with new business development. You'll engage customers primarily over the phone, with opportunities for virtual and face-to-face meetings, ensuring growth, retention, and exceptional service.
Key Responsibilities:
* Manage a portfolio of SME accounts, maintaining strong customer relationships
* Deliver on revenue targets through account management and new business activity
* Conduct cold calling and lead generation campaigns, qualifying opportunities
* Negotiate trading terms, rates, and credit requests to ensure profitability
* Onboard new customers, including system training and compliance requirements
* Support customers with queries, reporting, and quarterly reviews
* Maintain accurate customer data and sales activity in Salesforce CRM
* Collaborate with other teams to provide seamless service
* Attend trade shows and occasional interstate travel when required
Skills & Attributes:
* Proven sales experience, ideally in account management or inside sales
* Strong phone manner with the ability to engage and build rapport quickly
* Comfortable balancing retention and new business development
* Commercially astute, with confidence in negotiation and problem-solving
* Highly organised with excellent attention to detail
* Proficient in CRM systems, preferably Salesforce
