Infinite Consulting is seeking an experienced IT Infrastructure Engineer for our esteemed Federal Government Client. This is a July start for an initial 12 months contract, with potential for 24 months further extension!
About the Role
You will be a highly skilled and experienced Senior OpenShift Administrator responsible for monitoring, installation, configuration, administration, troubleshooting, and maintenance of on-premises Red Hat OpenShift clusters. Key duties include:
Providing technical support, troubleshooting problems, and automating solutions to ensure stable and efficient OpenShift environments, with ability to lead cloud projects.
Designing, deploying, managing, and troubleshooting OpenShift or other Kubernetes clusters in enterprise environments, ensuring high availability, reliability, and scalability.
Assisting developers in automating deployment, scaling, and management of containerized applications using OpenShift, GitOps, and CI/CD pipelines.
Overseeing cluster management, resource allocation, configuration management, and capacity planning within Red Hat OpenShift environments.
Developing and implementing Infrastructure as Code (IaC) solutions using tools like Ansible, Terraform, or Helm to support scalable and resilient cloud infrastructure.
Ensuring the security of OpenShift environments by implementing best practices.
Essential Criteria
5+ years in large-scale ICT environments, plus 3+ years in Kubernetes environments.
At least 5+ years of system administration experience, including OpenShift/Kubernetes cluster administration.
Extensive Kubernetes administration experience, including networking, security, storage, and troubleshooting.
Experience in government or highly regulated environments, complying with standards like ISM and Essential 8.
Red Hat Certified Specialist in OpenShift Administration or equivalent, or willingness to obtain within 3-6 months.
Desirable skills include: Kubernetes, Ansible, Helm, Python & Bash, CI/CD Pipelines, Git, Linux.

Start: July, 12 months with extension options.
Clearance: Australian Citizens with NV1 clearance.
