We are seeking an experienced and proactive WHS Advisor to support our Queensland Re.Cycle operations. Reporting to the National HSE Manager, this role will work closely with site leaders and frontline teams to drive a strong safety culture, reduce workplace risk, and support compliance with work health and safety requirements.
The role is responsible for supporting four facilities across Queensland, including two facilities in North Queensland. Regular travel to all facilities will be required, so this role will suit someone who enjoys being visible in the field and building strong relationships with operational teams.
About the role
* Support the consistent implementation of Re.Group's safety management systems, policies and procedures across four Queensland facilities.
* Travel regularly to all Queensland facilities, including two sites in North Queensland.
* Provide practical HSE advice and support to site leaders, employees and operational teams.
* Conduct risk assessments, audits and site inspections to identify hazards, risks and improvement opportunities.
* Investigate incidents, accidents and near misses, identify root causes and support corrective actions.
* Prepare safety alerts, toolbox talks and other communications to promote learning and prevention.
* Produce monthly HSE statistics and reports, identify trends and recommend proactive initiatives.
* Support occupational health, safety, environmental and quality initiatives across the business.
* Promote a proactive safety culture through coaching, training, toolbox talks and regular engagement with frontline teams.
* Build strong working relationships with site teams and support practical safety outcomes in a fast‐paced operational environment.
About you
* Certificate IV in Work Health and Safety or a relevant qualification.
* Minimum 2–3 years' experience in an operational safety role.
* Experience working in a site-based, industrial, logistics, recycling, manufacturing, construction or other operational environment.
* Comfortable travelling regularly across Queensland to support multiple operational sites.
* Strong knowledge of WHS/OHS legislation, codes of practice and safety management systems.
* Experience conducting audits, risk assessments and incident investigations.
* Strong analytical and problem‐solving skills with high attention to detail.
* Ability to manage multiple priorities across several sites.
* Excellent communication and stakeholder engagement skills.
* Practical, hands‐on approach with the confidence to coach and influence frontline teams.
* White Card, First Aid/CPR or Lead Auditor qualifications would be highly regarded.
