The Position
The main purpose of the Principal Consultant role is to lead large scale consulting engagements to generate maximum client impact and planned profitable revenue and to make a significant contribution to business development, thought leadership and the growth of the firm.
Accountabilities:
1. Scope, plan, manage, track and deliver large scale client engagements ensuring optimum client satisfaction, achievement of project milestones and delivery within budget
2. Plan, manage and control the profitability of engagements, ensuring that target margins for engagements is achieved
3. Select, mobilise, lead and motivate engagement teams ensuring all members can contribute fully to excellence in delivery
4. Contribute to business development by opening up opportunities, understanding client needs, writing proposals, presenting at client pitches and ensuring won work is effectively mobilized
5. Plan and develop key client accounts, building deep relationships and cross selling across Heidrick services to grow profitable revenue.
6. Develop best in class client solutions to optimize client impact based on a deep understanding of client needs and Heidrick service offerings
7. Contribute to the development of thought leadership including development of new products and methodologies Leadership Consulting – Principal 4
8. Develop depth in a broad range of consulting services, proactively develop own skill set and keep self up to date with best practice in the industry
9. Mentor, coach and develop Consultants and Analysts; share knowledge and best practice
10. Collaborate with colleagues across the firm to bring the best of Heidrick to client opportunities and to optimize profitable revenue
11. Develop depth in a broad range of consulting services, proactively develop own skill set and keep self up to date with best practice in the industry
12. Mentor, coach and develop Consultants and Analysts; share knowledge and best practice
13. Collaborate with colleagues across the firm to bring the best of Heidrick to client opportunities and to optimize profitable revenue

The Person
Qualifications & Experience
20. Minimum of seven to ten years of work experience with 5 years in a management or leadership consulting environment.
21. Undergraduate degree in required discipline; MBA or other relevant graduate degree strongly preferred.
22. Strong track record of influencing client thinking and of significant relationships with decision makers at key clients
23. Proven record of contributing to generating consulting revenue and building a pipeline of prospects.
24. Experience of leading large project teams
25. Evidence of contributing to thought leadership
26. Proven experience consulting with companies on organization and leadership-related business issues.
27. Deep content expertise in one or more of the core practice areas.
28. Willingness to travel globally and locally as required
