Position Title: Project and Procurement Officer Section: Pharmacist Evaluation Section, Prescription Medicines Authorisation Branch Classification: APS 6 Equivalent Start Date: ASAP End Date: 12 months from commencement (up to 12 months extension) Hours: Full‐time (37.5 hours per week) Location: Canberra – Fairbairn Campus, Melbourne Eligibility Requirements:
* Ability to obtain a National Police Certificate (will be applied for as part of the onboarding process)

Background
The Prescription Medicines Authorisation Branch (PMAB) evaluates new chemical entity prescription medicines, ensuring safety, effectiveness and timely availability in Australia. The Pharmaceutical Evaluation Section evaluates a range of applications via the minor variation pathway and manages procurement of external evaluations and expert advice services for the Branch.
Responsibilities
* Supervise, support and manage the External Evaluation team, including performance management.
* Collaborate effectively within the team, delegating tasks and overcoming obstacles with flexibility and innovation.
* Identify, write, review and maintain relevant procedures, policies and standards to optimise processes and service delivery.
* Collaborate with stakeholders to resolve issues related to External Evaluation business processes, including procurement contracts and expert advice panels.
* Serve as a subject‐matter expert and role model within the section.
* Contribute to strategic planning by facilitating business and operational process improvements.
* Provide training and orientation to new team members as required.
* Assist with change management strategies to improve process efficiencies and meet organisational key deliverables.
* Perform administrative tasks and other duties as requested by senior staff.

Mandatory Requirements
* Sound knowledge of Commonwealth Procurement Guidelines and the Public Governance Performance & Accountability (PGPA) Act 2013.
Desirable
* Certificate IV in Procurement or significant experience leading and managing projects.
* Experience with or understanding of the regulation of therapeutic goods in Australia.
Domestic travel is not required for this role.
