Electrochemical Specialist
You will be part of our team at the pilot plant in Wollongong, where we develop innovative battery materials for a sustainable future. Our goal is to create high-performance battery materials at mass market scale without compromising the environment.
We're looking for an electrochemical specialist with expertise in process operations and chemical handling. You will work alongside experienced engineers and researchers to design, test, and implement new facilities and processes. Your mission will be to ensure efficient and safe production of battery materials while maintaining high product quality.
Your day-to-day tasks will include monitoring and adjusting plant equipment, managing inventory, and optimizing processes to achieve production goals. You will also participate in troubleshooting and rectification of problems, update engineering documentation, and maintain a clean and safe working environment. Additionally, you will collaborate with third-party contractors and suppliers to ensure technical decisions are aligned with project objectives.

Requirements:
To succeed in this role, you should have a Bachelor's degree in Chemical or Process Engineering and experience in process operations and chemical handling. You should also possess strong analytical and problem-solving skills, as well as excellent communication skills and the ability to work independently. Familiarity with PFDs, HAZOP analysis, and troubleshooting procedures is highly desirable.
Bonus Requirements:
Experience in process equipment testing and commissioning, piping and equipment layout, gas cylinders, chemical handling, and analytical equipment would be an asset. Knowledge of chemical plant safety frameworks like HAZOP or risk assessments, Working in Hazardous Areas Classifications, First Aid, Fire Safety training, White Card, Forklift training would also be beneficial.
