Research Scientist Opportunity
A full-time, fixed-term position is available for three (3) years.
The opportunity will contribute to the investigation of the Southern Ocean circulation's sensitivity to changes in forcing.
About the Role
* Make a sustained contribution to the Australian Antarctic Program Partnership's strategic objectives.
* Undertake high-quality research that achieves national and international recognition, publishing research findings and contributing to student supervision.
* Develop and maintain productive links with partners and collaborators nationally and internationally.
You Will Be Responsible For
* Investigating the Southern Ocean circulation's sensitivity to natural and anthropogenic changes in forcing.
* Conducting innovative analyses of ocean observations, complementing existing numerical simulations.
* Maintaining effective links with AAPP partners and collaborators.
Your Application
To be successful in this role, your application should demonstrate:
* A PhD or equivalent in a relevant area of science.
* An excellent understanding of ocean dynamics and the ocean's role in climate.
* High-level quantitative skills.
* A good record of research that has achieved national and international recognition.
* Ability to build and maintain effective links nationally and internationally.
Appointment Details
This appointment will be at Academic Level B, with a remuneration package of up to $133,842. The package includes a base salary within the range of $98,537 to $114,395 plus 17% superannuation.
Security and Safety Clearance
Shortlisted candidates will be required to obtain medical clearance prior to interview. Successful applicants will need to meet security and safety standards when working at partner organisation sites or on field trips.
