Job description: Reporting to the Senior Mine Accountant, you will be responsible for taking a hands‐on and proactive role in the support of the financial and operational functions of the business. We are looking for an inquisitive person who enjoys numbers and works with a genuine appreciation for the structured, day‐to‐day responsibilities of accounting, including ledger reconciliation, financial reporting, and ensuring ongoing compliance and accuracy in all financial matters.
About the role. Dynamic & diverse position that draws on management and financial accounting skills; involvement in key commercial activities including end‐of‐month, budgets, forecasting and life‐of‐mine planning; working closely with a variety of stakeholders across each key area within HVO and outside the organisation. The successful candidate will also be provided with the opportunity to be mentored and developed while honing existing skills and increasing commercial acumen. You will join a supportive team that is open to change and continuous improvement while gaining an understanding of the operational and technical aspects of mining.
Roster and location. Monday‐to‐Friday professional roster, based on site at HVO (off Lemington Road).
About you. Tertiary qualifications in accounting or a related discipline. Interest in numbers and processes. A team player who is confident working independently. Clear communicator with strong written and verbal communication skills. Highly motivated individual with ability to successfully drive change. Sound ability to interrogate data and understand "the why." Ideally, the successful candidate will be working towards, or open to, gaining CPA or CA accreditations (education assistance provided).
