About the Role
The Care Services Assistant plays a pivotal frontline carer role focused on nutrition and dining support. You will help residents live a life of fulfilment through person‑centred care and support, meeting each resident’s needs and preferences in everyday practice.
Responsibilities
- Assist in the preparation, delivery, presentation and serving of resident meals.
- Support residents with meal selection and timing preferences.
- Maintain accurate nutrition and diet information.
- Help maintain kitchen stock supplies as required.
- Use food safety standards, Bolton Clarke Food Standards and Dining Framework in meal preparation.
- Actively engage residents, providing social and emotional support during mealtimes.
- Promote resident choice, control, dignity and respect throughout dining.
- Ensure the dining area is prepared in line with individual resident needs and preferences.
- Maintain cleanliness and hygiene of dining areas.
- Follow all relevant health and safety policies.
Qualifications
- Demonstrated customer service skills.
- A compassionate and caring attitude.
- Previous restaurant and/or commercial kitchen experience (highly regarded).
- Willingness to take direction from others.
- Reliability and shift flexibility.
- Valuable time‑management skills and the ability to work well under pressure.
- Valid working rights in Australia (passport, birth certificate, etc.).
- Completed police check.
- NDIS Worker Check or National Police check (willingness to obtain prior to commencement – cost refunded on appointment).
