Mercure Newcastle is seeking a
Full Time Breakfast Chef

Mercure Newcastle offers 131 guest rooms, 4 conference rooms and a restaurant and bar catering to a wide range of travelers. This role involves preparing and serving a diverse range of breakfast dishes, from traditional hot breakfasts to healthier and continental options, while ensuring the breakfast section is organized, on time, and presented beautifully.
Responsibilities
Prepare, cook and serve food for the breakfast buffet showing variety and flair
Ensure strict stock rotation and minimum wastage following stock control procedures
Keep all working areas clean and tidy. The chef is required to wash all dishes during service
Assist with inhouse functions, restaurant and cafe food as required
Ensure all equipment is maintained, serviced and cleaned. Report any problems to the Food & Beverage Operations Manager.
Qualifications
Experience in buffet breakfast service preferred
Deliver consistent, high quality food while maintaining set food cost
Work in conjunction with service teams to ensure quality product and service to guests
Have great communication skills & a positive attitude
Have excellent planning and organisational skills
Have willingness to learn and go above and beyond for our guests
