We are seeking a skilled Metal Fabricator Welder to join our production team. This is a workshop-based role focusing on the end-to-end fabrication of high-quality steel structures for the commercial and industrial sectors. Benefits Opportunity to work in a well supported team environment, competitive salary and progression Task & responsibilities Key Responsibilities: Interpret and work from complex engineering blueprints and architectural drawings. Mark out and develop patterns on raw steel sections for precise cutting and drilling.
Operate fabrication machinery including CNC guillotines, band saws, and press brakes. Assemble and align structural components using jigs and manual tools. Perform high-level welding (MIG and TIG) to join fabricated sections according to AS/NZS 1554 standards.
Conduct quality checks on finished products to ensure structural integrity and geometric accuracy. Qualification & experience Required Skills & Experience: Qualification: Certificate III in Engineering (Fabrication Trade) or equivalent qualification. - Higher qualifications preferred Experience: Minimum of 1 year of post-qualification experience in a structural steel environment.
Technical Skills: Proficient in reading technical drawings and using a variety of fabrication equipment. Welding: Strong competency in MIG welding; TIG experience is highly regarded. Attributes: High attention to detail, strong safety focus, and ability to work effectively in a team.
