Limestone Coast Local Health Network, Penola War Memorial Hospital MPS Salary: $29.70 - $30.01 per hour 25% casual loading - Casual - WHA4 Exciting Opportunity: Casual Direct Care Worker at Penola War Memorial Hospital MPS Are you looking for a flexible role that allows you to make a meaningful impact in a supportive and friendly environment? Penola War Memorial Hospital MPS is seeking dedicated Casual Direct Care Workers to join our team and provide compassionate care to our residents. About the Role: As a Direct Care Worker at Penola War Memorial Hospital, you will have the flexibility to manage your work schedule while contributing to the well-being of aged care clients in our Residential Care Home. Your role will involve: Personal Care: Assisting residents with bathing, showering, personal hygiene, dressing, grooming, toileting, and continence management. Support and Mobility: Helping with feeding, maintaining mobility through transferring and lifting (including using mechanical aids), and supporting daily activities. Housekeeping: Performing bed making, cleaning equipment, aids, and utensils, and distributing clean laundry and personal attire. Documentation and Assessment: Providing input into resident assessments, recording general observations, identifying diversional therapy needs, and completing routine documentation as per established policies. What We’re Looking For: Qualifications: Completed AQF Certificate III relevant to the position. Experience: Previous experience in direct care services, particularly with aged, frail, or disabled individuals. Skills: Strong ability to work effectively within a team, excellent interpersonal and communication skills, and the capability to handle sensitive information with discretion and confidentiality. Attributes: Proven ability to meet deadlines, use initiative, and work autonomously with limited direction. Demonstrated judgment in day-to-day tasks and a commitment to customer service principles. Technical Skills: Proficiency in using computer packages such as Microsoft Word and Excel. Knowledge: Understanding of safe working conditions, commitment to customer service, and knowledge of Risk Management standards, Equal Employment Opportunity, and Occupational Health, Safety, and Welfare legislation.
