Overview
Software Engineer - iOS at Bupa Australia. This is a mid-level role focused on modern iOS native development with Swift for the Blua mobile client, working with feature teams to build new and existing features.
About the Role
Be an integral part of the Digital tech team to meet business expectations in the mobile environment. The role involves design input for end-to-end solutions and providing feedback on design to ensure operational needs are met.
Key Responsibilities
* Work within a scrum team to code, analyse, design, and support the Blua mobile application and feature teams.
* Identify process and system improvements for the native iOS Swift domain.
* Collaborate with mobile team members, provide mentoring and training, and lead development activities when appropriate.
* Provide analysis and act as a Subject Matter Expert to assist feature estimations for Blua mobile changes.
* Participate in mobile scrum ceremonies (daily stand-ups, sprint planning, retrospectives).
* Contribute to system analysis, technical design, and documentation with realistic estimates, supported by Senior Engineers.
* Ensure technical designs comply with application architectural principles and follow design specifications and feature criteria.
* Undertake manual and automated testing per agreed unit test coverage and maintain artefacts for audit compliance.
* Ensure deliverables meet Quality Assurance requirements.
Qualifications
* Tertiary qualification in an IT discipline (degree level preferred).
* 3-5 years of experience in iOS native Swift development.
* Experience with other mobile languages (Objective C, Java, Kotlin, .Net Xamarin) is highly regarded.
* REST services and Azure knowledge is highly regarded.
* Strong analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills (oral and written), with the ability to present to technical and non-technical audiences.
* Proven ability to work creatively and collaboratively in a team.
