Join our dynamic Control & Protection Engineering team, where you'll support key programs, deliver industry ‐ leading analysis and initiatives, and help drive the transition to a sustainable, net ‐ zero future.

In this exciting role, you'll combine advanced modelling, innovative thinking and technical expertise to shape the future of our network.

Working alongside a team of experienced engineers, you'll deliver engineering and technical activities that optimise the performance and reliability of Ausgrid's network, while helping design safe, reliable, sustainable and affordable solutions for our customers.

Responsibilities

* Undertake design and design review of protection and control schemes within Zone and Sub-transmission Substations.
* Using protection software undertake studies to determine protection settings for devices on the distribution and transmission network.
* Produce protection and SCADA device settings and configuration files.
* Assist field technicians in commissioning new protection and SCADA schemes.
* Undertake engineering studies, investigations, risk assessment, reporting and /or analysis to plan, specify, design and / or manage the network through the asset lifecycle.
* Prepare, present and / or review relevant documentation such as project / program scopes, risk assessments, processes, reports, and critical papers.
* Undertake engineering or technical activities to support and optimise the performance and reliability of the organisation's network.

What you bring to the role

To be successful, you will have the following skills & experience:

* Engineering Degree in a relevant discipline (or equivalent) giving entitlement to full membership of Engineers Australia.
* Sound knowledge of relevant statutes, regulations and procedures such as safe working practices, network standards and codes of practice.
* Demonstrated experience in undertaking or managing multiple tasks and / or projects and prioritising activities.
* Demonstrated experience working within a team environment to effectively deliver projects or work activities within appropriate time frames and costs.
* Demonstrated experience liaising with a variety of stakeholders, including the resolution of complex complaints/issues and implementation of solutions.
* Experience in studies, investigations, reporting, analysis and / or risk assessment relevant to the electrical network.
* Advanced computer skills with experience in using short circuit protection software such as ASPEN or CAPE.
* Experience in the development and application of protection schemes and settings within a distribution and transmission network.
* Demonstrated experience in using IED setting software, including configuring and setting of protection relays, SCADA systems and IEDs.
* Demonstrated experience in designing protection and control schemes within Zone and Sub-transmission Substations.
