Busy Bees at Carrum Downs is seeking a Part-Time Chef (30 hours per week Monday to Friday) to join our warm and supportive team. This is an excellent opportunity for a chef who enjoys early hours consistency and worklife balance with no weekend work.
About the Role
In this role you will:
* Plan and prepare nutritious meals and snacks in line with childrens dietary needs and centre menu plans
* Maintain a safe clean and hygienic kitchen environment in accordance with Food Safety Standards
* Manage stock levels ordering and kitchen supplies
* Cater to special dietary requirements including allergies and cultural or medical needs
* Collaborate with educators and leadership to support centre events and celebrations
* Promote healthy eating habits and food education for children
What Youll Need
* Certificate in Commercial Cookery (or equivalent experience working as a chef or cook)
* Experience working in a kitchen environment within childcare (highly desirable)
* Working with Children Check (Employee) VIC requirement
* Understanding of nutrition requirements for young children
* Food Safety Supervisor certification (or willingness to obtain)
* Strong organisation skills and ability to work independently
* Availability Monday to Friday across a 30-hour weekly schedule
