Job Title: Social Services Specialist
We are seeking an experienced social worker to provide crisis intervention, short-term support, and risk assessment services for patients in a remote hospital setting.
About the Role:
The successful candidate will have high-level skills working with Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander populations, handling domestic and family violence cases, child neglect and abuse reporting, and statutory child removal.
Key Responsibilities:
* Crisis response and intervention
* Short-term support and risk assessment
* Safety planning and coordination of support services
* Domestic and family violence risk assessment and support
* Working with child protection concerns
* Providing advocacy and support to patients and families
Working Conditions:
This role requires strong communication and interpersonal skills, as well as the ability to work independently and as part of a team. The successful candidate will be required to work extended hours, including weekends and after-hours shifts, on call.
Cases may involve:
* Sexual violence
* Emergency department presentations
* Crisis response (adults and pediatrics)
* Guardianship
* Advocacy
* NDIS applications
* Inpatients only – emergency department, acute wards – general medical, surgical, palliative care, rehabilitation, maternity, and pediatrics
* Strong crisis response experience with victims of domestic and sexual violence
