Mid-Senior level Subdivision and Development Engineer role at Kiama Council, Illawarra Mercury

We currently have an opportunity for a Subdivision and Development Engineer to join our Infrastructure and Liveability team.
As A Subdivision and Development Engineer with us you will:
* Assess the engineering requirements for subdivision, development, and commercial building applications within service level requirements
* Review, manage and approval of Construction Certificate applications
* Manage developer/contractor approvals for traffic management and traffic facilities
* Ensure compliance of related construction work with codes, specifications and standards
* Develop and review development approval processes and policies to ensure currency, efficiency and effectiveness of engineering requirements, conditions and procedures
* Provide expert technical advice to Council staff, the public, builders, developers, consultants, contractors and government departments
* Asset acceptance, including asset data, for third party works such as subdivisions and vehicle crossings.
We offer a permanent full-time role, 35 hours per week, accrued flex time, annual salary from $97,506 to $107,500, progressive annual salary to $118,519, market allowance, civil liability allowance, superannuation, vehicle for operational & private use, mobile phone.
To be successful in the role you will need:
* A Degree in Civil Engineering with eligibility for membership to Engineers Australia or other degree qualifications with relevant experience
* Comprehensive knowledge of the Environmental Planning & Assessment Act 1979, Local Government Act 1993 and Roads Act 1993 and associated legislation and regulations
* Experience in the assessment and provision of engineering input on land development and subdivision applications
* Extensive experience in the inspection and approval of land development and subdivision related civil engineering construction works to ensure compliance with development consent conditions and other legislative requirements
* Experience acting as a Principal Certifying Authority for land development and subdivision works
* Communication, problem solving and negotiation skills with a strong customer focus
* A WHS Construction Induction White Card
* A SafeWork NSW Traffic Control Work Training (TCWT) - Prepare a work zone traffic management plan (or a commitment to achieve)
* Class C Driver's Licence.
