About the Role

We are seeking an experienced and dynamic Country Head to lead our Australian operations for wind, solar, and energy storage business development. This is a senior leadership role responsible for establishing and growing our presence in the Australian renewable energy market, driving investment opportunities, and achieving strategic development milestones. As the most senior representative on the ground, you will navigate the dynamic Australian energy landscape, build critical stakeholder relationships, and coordinate with headquarters to build a robust project pipeline from the ground up.

Responsibilities

* In alignment with the company's overall strategy, lead the comprehensive development of the wind, solar, and energy storage business in Australia, achieving investment and development targets.
* Serve as the primary company representative in Australia, building and maintaining relationships with key stakeholders including government agencies, utilities, project developers, financial institutions, and indigenous communities.
* Coordinate and communicate effectively with relevant internal departments at headquarters.
* Collaborate with channel partners and local developers to deliver competitive solution proposals in a timely manner.
* Gather and analyze information on Australian wind, solar, and storage industry policies and regulations, market data (including NEM and WEM), tender details (such as CIS, ARENA, CEC programs), and competitor activities.
* Report strategic intelligence back to the company along with constructive recommendations for market positioning and investment decisions.
* Identify and evaluate greenfield and brownfield project opportunities, leading feasibility studies and early‐stage development activities.
* Build and lead a local team to support business development and project execution activities.

Qualifications

* Full‐time Bachelor's degree or higher in Electric Power, New Energy, Business Administration, or a related field. MBA or advanced degree preferred.
* Possess deep knowledge of energy storage systems, renewable energy technologies, and the Australian National Electricity Market (NEM).
* Strong interpersonal, negotiation, and leadership skills with demonstrated ability to influence at senior levels across diverse cultural contexts.
* Demonstrated ability to learn quickly, think strategically, and solve complex problems in a rapidly evolving market.
* Minimum of 8-10 years of experience in renewable energy project development in Australia, with at least 3 years in a leadership capacity.
* Must be adaptable to frequent domestic travel across Australia and periodic travel to headquarters in China.
* Fluent in English, with the ability to conduct high‐stakes business negotiations independently.
* Candidates with experience working with Chinese companies or cross‐cultural business environments are strongly preferred.
* Candidates with a proven track record of successfully developing complete utility‐scale projects (50MW+) in Australia are highly preferred.
* Proficiency in Mandarin Chinese is highly valued for effective communication with headquarters.

* Deep understanding of power purchase agreements (PPAs), project financing, and Australian renewable energy certificate markets.
* Experience with indigenous community engagement and native title agreements.
* Experience establishing or leading a country office for an international energy company.
* Familiarity with Australian foreign investment regulations (FIRB) and cross‐border investment dynamics.

Pay range and compensation package
