Firefighter role requires a team-oriented and adaptable individual to protect people, property and the environment in local communities. Key responsibilities include community fire safety work, attending fires and other emergencies, community education on fire prevention and safety for school children, senior citizens and local businesses, and collaboration with other emergency services.
Applicants must have a valid NSW Driver's Licence (minimum P1), be an Australian or New Zealand citizen or permanent resident, live and/or work within 7 minutes of the FRNSW Fire Station, and have long term daytime availability, Monday to Friday 0800 to 1600.
On-going training is provided on all aspects of firefighting and rescue including basic life support, rope work, power tool use and community engagement skills. A minimum of 33% of all calls over a six month period together with no less than 75% drill attendance is required.
