About the opportunity
The Silvalis finance team is a small, flat structured team, where members report directly to the COO. The position is based in our bright and spacious Osborne Park offices with ample parking on-site.
The business is expanding its core operations around planting, managing, harvesting and manufacturing sandalwood and associated species. This expansion is driving the need for a graduate accountant with exceptional excel skills to work with the COO and accounting team to reshape both the accounting and business systems. Working at WA Sandalwood is an opportunity to work across all aspects of the business, with special projects aimed at more closely linking the business operations seamlessly with the accounting and finance function.
What skills are required for the role
* Degree qualified (Accounting or Commerce).
* Some experience in an accountant role (or other relevant work experience) a plus but not essential.
* Advanced excel skills.

* Intercompany and group consolidation skills using excel.
* Financial modelling.
* Stock and inventory reporting.
* Month-end close processes and management reporting.
* Preparation BAS, FBT, payroll tax, etc.
* Statutory reporting and liaising with auditors and external tax accountants.
* Prepare and review general ledger reconciliations.
* Capital project budgeting, forecasting, and ongoing project reports.
* Manage fixed asset register, capital-in-progress and assist in the coordination of asset counts.
* Manage cashflow forecast and planning model.
* Collating information from the operating divisions and consolidating into various management reports mostly on a monthly, quarterly and annual basis.
* Budgeting, forecasting & analysis to provide insights for leadership team, including analysis of financial results providing detailed explanations of variances.
* Ongoing implementation and management of accounting systems and sub-systems (as well as future erp project/s).
* Tax compliance in consultation with external tax advisors.
* Process improvement.
* Attention to detail and build-in of auditability to one's work.
