About The Role:
The Industry Development Manager works with South Australian manufacturers and supply chains to identify and support opportunities for productivity, growth, and investment. This role builds and nurtures collaborative relationships across South Australian industry, business, government, and the research and education sectors to deliver positive economic, environmental, and social outcomes. It also involves gathering and sharing strategic insights to identify initiatives that strengthen industry capability. The Industry Development Manager plays a key role in supporting the growth of a strong, diversified, globally connected, and high-value local manufacturing sector. The position drives the adoption of innovative business models, strategies, and technologies to ensure South Australia remains competitive and future focused.
As An Industry Development Manager, You Will
Lead targeted engagement with South Australian manufacturers to identify strategic growth opportunities and provide high-level support to leverage funding and investment through complex grant programs and government initiatives, aligning with broader economic development priorities.
Develop and maintain collaborative relationships and strategic partnerships and networks with key stakeholders across government agencies and industry, to maximise opportunities for South Australia.
Develop action plans and lead the delivery of programs and initiatives under the South Australian Manufacturing Strategy to enhance the manufacturing capability and capacity in the State, reducing barriers to growth and transformation.
Analyse complex information to identify and evaluate critical risks, issues, trends and opportunities, delivering expert advice and recommendations to influence and address impacts to the manufacturing industry's capacity to adopt new high-value business models, partnerships, solutions and technologies.
Lead and deliver significant briefing papers and reports, to provide evidence-based recommendations and influence strategic decision-making on issues of a complex and sensitive nature.
Key Competencies
Detailed and contemporary knowledge of the South Australian Manufacturing sector, international, national and South Australian economies, and the risks, opportunities and trends affecting manufacturing growth and sustainability in South Australia.
Significant experience in the development and implementation of high-quality partnering and engagement activities, collaborating with stakeholders in the development of targeted, actionable plans and programs.
Experience in developing, interpreting and analysing strategy or policy, identifying priorities and providing high-level strategic advice and succinct reports and recommendations.
Sound knowledge of business, management and stakeholder practices.
Remuneration:
Competitive salary ASO8 $121,107 to $125,679 p.a. plus superannuation

Desirable:
Appropriate Tertiary Qualification in a Business, Supply Chain, Engineering or Supply Chain related discipline or equivalent demonstrated experience
Special Conditions
The role will be offered full-time (1.0 FTE) basis for up to 24 months.
Satisfactory Department of Human Services Criminal History Check or National Police Check (NPC).
