SAP ABAP Developer | Forest Hill, VIC | $125k + Super
We are working with a specialist provider of SAP change control and DevOps solutions based in Melbourne who are looking to grow.
We're looking for a hands‐on ABAP Developer who can help our client evolve their legacy codebase and drive the transition to modern, cloud‐based ABAP.
Requirements
* 4–8+ years' hands‐on ABAP development experience, open to strong mid-level through senior engineers
* Strong experience with classical ABAP including reports, function modules, enhancements (BADI/User Exits), data dictionary, and debugging
* Experience working with ABAP on HANA, including CDS Views and OData services
* Solid understanding of software engineering fundamentals such as object‐oriented ABAP, database design, and integrations/APIs
* Strong focus on clean, maintainable code, with experience across both project delivery and BAU/support environments
Responsibilities
* Maintain and enhance the existing legacy ABAP platform, ensuring it remains stable, scalable, and high-performing.
* Support the ongoing migration and evolution of the codebase towards ABAP in the Cloud and modern SAP technologies.>
* Be involved across the full software development lifecycle, from requirements gathering and technical design through to development, testing, deployment, and ongoing application support (including troubleshooting and defect resolution).
* Work across a mix of project delivery and BAU/product maintenance, contributing beyond purely greenfield development.
* Collaborate closely with development, QA, and product teams in an on‐site environment to deliver high‐quality, well‐engineered features.
