The Reef Hotel Casino is the pre-eminent centre for gaming, entertainment, food and accommodation in Cairns.
We are currently seeking expressions of interest, from sales and revenue-driven individuals who possess exceptional organisation and time management skills, to join our dynamic Sales team in the area of event contracting and client coordination.
Working within a successful sales team, you will be responsible for converting new business leads, contracting new clients and client liaison through to event completion, whilst promoting Pullman brand standards to clientele.
Key responsibilities will include:
✓ Point of contact and follow up on potential meeting, incentive, conference & event business
✓ Convert initial enquiries to a successful conclusion
✓ Issue proposals, contract preparation, ensure deposits are paid, and full client event coordination to hand over to the operational team
✓ Actively participate in sales presentations, customer site visits and customer meetings, including some offsite meetings
✓ Occasionally attend local business updates, events, and actively seek leads
✓ Respond to specific client requests whilst being proactive in providing creative solutions that meet & exceed client expectations
✓ Follow up with the client to seek feedback on their experience and repeat business
✓ Communicate with relevant departments to ensure that the event runs smoothly
✓ Correct system reporting, budgeting, and forecasting your events
The successful applicant will possess:
✓ Recent, relevant experience in a similar role in a fast-paced environment
✓ Exceptional organisational and time management skills
✓ Opera, Delphi & ANAIS knowledge preferred but not essential
✓ Good working knowledge of local and national business event markets
✓ An eye for detail and a good understanding of hotel, food and beverage operations
✓ Strong communication skills - written, verbal, and listening
✓ Understanding of operational needs & functions
✓ Excellent grooming and personal presentation
