Emergency Department Administration Manager
This is a senior administrative role that plays a vital part in supporting clinical staff and ensuring the smooth operation of the emergency department.
Key Responsibilities:
* Roster management for all staff in the emergency department, including creation and implementation of rosters to meet the needs of the department.
* Support for medical staff recruitment, including advertising vacancies, shortlisting candidates, and conducting interviews.
* Creation of reports for the Australasian College for Emergency Medicine regarding training programs, including analysis of data and recommendations for improvement.
* Coordination and responsibility for all department meetings, including preparation of agendas, minutes, and follow-up actions.
* Screening and attending to confidential and sensitive enquires, telephone calls, and ensuring appropriate follow-up action is taken.
* Working closely with the Nursing Unit Manager and Director of Emergency to manage the daily operations of the emergency department.
The successful candidate will lead the administration team and provide high-level administrative support to the emergency department. This includes developing and implementing processes and procedures to ensure efficient operation of the department, as well as providing guidance and oversight to junior staff members.
The ideal candidate will have significant experience working in a complex healthcare environment where sensitive information is treated with confidentiality. They will possess highly developed communication, interpersonal, and negotiation skills, as well as significant experience in staff management, including rostering and leave management processing.

About the Role:
* This is a full-time position based at our hospital location.
* The successful candidate will be required to work a rotating shift pattern, including evenings, nights, and weekends.
* The role requires a high level of autonomy and independence, as well as the ability to work effectively in a team environment.
Requirements:
* Diploma or degree in a relevant field such as business administration, health administration, or a related field.
* Minimum 5 years' experience in a similar role, preferably in a healthcare setting.
* Highly developed communication, interpersonal, and negotiation skills.
* Significant experience in staff management, including rostering and leave management processing.
* Able to work effectively in a fast-paced environment and prioritize tasks accordingly.
