About The RoleWith an exciting brownfields hard-rock mining project on the horizon, we're seeking experienced Mine Surveyors & Senior Surveyors.
Reporting to the Project Manager, you will be responsible for surveying the mining area to support mine planning and production activity.
Located nearby Southern Cross, these roles are offered on a FIFO 8/6 roster from Perth or DIDO roster from surrounding towns.In this role, you willPerform surveys for stockpile volumes, end-of-month pickups, ore block layouts, mining as-builts, waste dump construction, and cavity monitoring, as well as producing detailed plans and maps.Conduct timely pickups and prepare reports for all excavations.Install and maintain survey control points across pits, ramps, crests, and toes.Accurately enter survey data into relevant systems and databases.Produce required documentation, including digging notes, drill and development plans, and traffic/emergency maps.Review and submit survey reports.Maintain survey accuracy and compliance through regular control checks and updates.About YouBachelor's degree in surveying, spatial (or geospatial) science.Experience in an open pit mining environment.Proven and effective people management skills.Effective problem solving skills.Able to act as a strong and positive example to the workforce.Current driver\'s licence.What Thiess Can Do For YouPermanent full-time positionsFull camp facilities providedThiess' commitment to training & developmentSalary sacrifice options – Flights & novated leasingRange of corporate discounts including health insurance (Medibank), travel & retail products.Referral bonus programAbout UsWe partner with our clients to deliver excellence in open cut and underground mining in Australia, Asia and the Americas.
