This role sits within a well-established industrial manufacturing business who are navigating a period of change.
The Role
Reporting to the CFO, this is a senior Commercial Manager contract role supporting a core multi-site manufacturing stream. Over a 4-month temporary assignment, you will partner closely with divisional and site leadership to provide clear commercial insight, improve performance visibility and support better operational decision-making. This is a hands-on, operationally focused role suited to someone who enjoys being close to the business and driving outcomes, not sitting in a back-office reporting function. This is based in the Inner West.
Key Responsibilities
* Lead budgeting and forecasting for the division, including volumes, revenue, margins and key cost drivers
* Develop and embed financial and operational KPIs at site and divisional level, ensuring they are actively used by leadership
* Analyse performance against budget and forecast, clearly explaining variances and recommending practical actions
* Partner with operations and leadership on pricing, margin management, capacity decisions and site performance
* Support commercial decision-making through business cases, scenario modelling and investment analysis
* Work closely with Group Finance to ensure month-end reporting and dashboards are accurate, timely and useful
* Help improve data quality and the practical use of ERP and reporting tools across the business
You will bring:
* A degree in Accounting, Finance or Commerce, with CA / CPA / CIMA
* 10+ years' experience in commercial finance roles, ideally within multi-site manufacturing or industrial environments
* Strong budgeting, forecasting and financial modelling capability with advanced Excel skills
* Proven experience partnering with GMs, divisional leaders or plant managers to improve margin, cost per unit and working capital
* Hands-on ERP and reporting experience in a manufacturing context
* The ability to balance hands-on analysis with time spent on site and with operations teams
