Bennco Group are a multi-disciplinary building and construction business, which has grown from humble beginnings in Tom Price to become the first choice for Tier 1 organisations across the Pilbara and greater Western Australia, to support operations in the NPI space.

Based at our Tom Price operations and reporting to the HSEQ Manager, you will implement and monitor Bennco Groups safety systems ensuring legal obligations are met in regard to Work Health and Safety Act 2020 and environmental legislation of the states and territories in which we operate.
Key responsibilities
Strategy:
* Work with management and supervisors to continuously improve and uphold operational management systems, processes and best practice
* Ensure mechanisms are provided for effective WHS consultation for all workers
* Investigate improvement initiatives that seek to reduce OH&S and environmental exposures/risks across Bennco Group
* Continue to monitor the effectiveness of the above
Performance and development:
* Provide HSEQ advice and expertise to manage HSEQ issues and to improve HSEQ performance, culture and management
* Conduct and support HSEQ audits, inspections, investigations, and training/awareness
* Monitor work practices to ensure adherence to safety and environmental procedures and standards
* Ensure all HSEQ processes and activities; JHA's, permits etc. comply with relevant HSEQ legislation and company standards
* Provide hands on support to implement HSEQ improvements, plans or solutions
* Maintain knowledge of contemporary HSEQ practices to recommend and implement effective HSEQ solutions
Compliance/Safety:
* Ensure Bennco Group is compliant with Work Health and Safety Act 2020, 2011 WHS Act & 2011 WHS Regulations
* Maintain current knowledge of Bennco Group HSE policies and procedures
* Assist in the development and implementation of Level 2 risk assessments
* Assist in the development and review of SMPS, SWMS and JHAs as required
* Conduct hazard identification and risk assessment throughout Bennco Group Sites
* Ensure that all personnel are deemed 'competent', with the relevant qualifications and licenses, to perform work activities
* Ensure that a qualified first aid person and first aid kit is available as required
* Ensure that emergency procedures and contact details are displayed as required
* Ensure that all staff are issued with, and are using correctly, the PPE required for their work activities
* Follow Bennco Group reporting procedures for all accidents, injuries, incidents and near misses
* Maintain site diary of all on-site activities when required
* Actively promote Bennco Group values and its "safety first" culture
* Encourage early and timely reporting of incidents and hazards
* Ensure corrective actions are undertaken in a timely manner
* Support HSEQ Manager and other advisors as required
* Lead and participate in risk management activities to support the project in pursuit of an incident and injury free outcome
Client and external relationships:
* Ensure customer enquiries are immediately addressed or communicated to the relevant personnel
* Document all communication with clients as per Bennco Group procedure
* Always maintain a professional and courteous manner
* Actively always promote professionalism and customer focus
About you
* Minimum 3 years' experience in a similar HSEQ role
* Demonstrated experience in supporting Operations to be compliant to HSEQ Standards
* Excellent decision-making capabilities
* Excellent written and verbal communication skills
* Proficiency in MS Office Suite
* A genuine understanding and interest in working within the company's values.

* Ability to work autonomously
* Ability to work under pressure and maintain time management obligations
Other essential requirements:
* Minimum "C" class license
* Competent in Excel and Word
* Strong ability to communicate effectively and engage with employees at all levels
