About the Role
The People & Culture Generalist is a trusted, hands‐on operator who leads recruitment, onboarding, people compliance, training and day‐to‐day employee support across the business.
Operating with defined strategy and goals in place, you prioritise actions and build the structure that enables People and Culture to thrive — supporting leaders, empowering team members, and helping the business grow sustainably.
This role is both operational and relational, balancing structure with empathy and consistency with care.
This role is a12-month fixed-term contract, with potential to extend or transition into a permanent role.
Your Main Priorities
Recruitment & Workforce
* Lead end-to-end recruitment across retail and support office roles
* Build talent pipelines to support workforce planning
* Uphold ANNEES employer brand throughout hiring
Training & Development
* Design and manage training programs across all departments
* Maintain compliance training (Fair Work, WHS, policies)
* Partner with leaders to build team capability
Onboarding & Offboarding
* Deliver effective onboarding for new team members
* Manage contracts, systems, and documentation
* Lead smooth, compliant offboarding
People Operations
* First point of contact for people-related matters
* Support performance management and feedback processes
* Handle sensitive matters with clarity and care
Compliance
* Ensure compliance with workplace legislation and standards
* Identify and mitigate risks proactively
* Support WHS and policy frameworks
Culture & Engagement
* Support team culture, engagement, and communication
* Deliver people initiatives and improvements
* Mentor and support team development
What We're Looking For
* Minimum 3 years experience in People & Culture, HR, or People Operations
* A solid understanding of Australian employment basics
* A confident communicator who leads with calm, empathy, and clarity
* Highly organised, with strong attention to detail
* Comfortable balancing people care with process and compliance
* Experience in retail or multi‐site environments is a bonus
